I’m a Birmingham-based writer, visual storyteller and independent publisher, applying to bring that practice into local reporting.

Built in Birmingham, with attention to the people and places that shape life through war, peace and anything in between.

Why I’m applying

I want to bring this practice into local reporting.

I direct each project from the first question to the final page—writing, editing, sequencing and building the public presentation myself.

I do not yet have three years in a newsroom. I can show the work, the care behind it and a willingness to be tested, edited and improved.

I want to report Birmingham by staying close to people, places, records and decisions.

Independent practice

Good work starts with evidence you can return to.

I developed a small open-source project to help preserve a clear record of what was collected and make it easier to check later. It brings together writing, design, publishing and care for the source.
